Cambridge 0452 · A* to G
Cambridge 0452 grade guide
Cambridge 0452 is graded A* to G. Below are the marks each grade needed in recent series. Use them to see how the scale works, not as targets.
The scale and how it works
- Grades A* to G.
- A* is the highest grade and G is the lowest. Ungraded means the standard for grade G was not met. It is reported on the statement of results but not on the certificate.
- Candidates who achieve grades A* to C are well prepared to follow a wide range of courses including Cambridge International AS & A Level Accounting.

June is one of the two main series (June and November). Cambridge lists several component codes because different administrative zones sit different papers. Each Cambridge table covers one series only and does not predict any later one.

Reading the numbers
Cambridge adds the two papers into a single weighted total and compares it with the syllabus thresholds. In the March 2026 table the weighted maximum is 143. A student with 108 weighted marks was awarded A*, 87 an A, 66 a B and 46 a C. Cambridge also publishes the minimum raw mark on each paper for grades A to G, shown in the first table. Grade A* exists only at syllabus level, not for an individual paper.
Reading the two tables together shows how the grade is built. The raw thresholds on Paper 2 are far higher than on Paper 1 because Paper 2 is out of 100 against 35. Most of the movement between grades therefore happens in the structured paper. That is why our teachers spend most lesson time on full Paper 2 questions while keeping Paper 1 sharp with short timed sets.
Planning from a target grade
Our teachers turn a target grade into a target for each paper. For a student aiming for a C, for example, we ask what share of the total the C line represents in the table. In March 2026 it was about a third of the weighted maximum. Then we look at where those marks will realistically come from, usually the straightforward recording and adjustment tasks first and evaluation marks later. For an A or A*, the share is much higher, so evaluation (15% of Paper 2) and accuracy under time pressure become the priority.
About 130 guided learning hours, according to the Cambridge syllabus. The syllabus adds that this is guidance only, and that the hours needed vary with the school and the learner's experience. Our teachers use it as a sense of scale when they set a weekly plan.
