Learning-centre students
IGCSE Accounting support for learning-centre students
Add 1-to-1 time to group classes, focused on the gaps your child actually has.
One-hour paid trial · Same-day reply · from RM75/hr
Who this is for
- Students at a learning centre who need one-to-one attention on accounting
- Learners who understand the class but lose marks on their own work
- Students wanting to move ahead of, or catch up with, their centre’s pace
What we cover
A learning centre teaches the group; we teach your child. We find exactly where marks are being lost, often presentation, adjustments or interpretation, and fix those. This complements the centre’s classes and does not repeat them.
- Diagnosing the specific topics and skills costing marks
- One-to-one work on statements, adjustments and ratios
- Marked practice with individual feedback
- Flexible timing that fits around centre classes and school
Every syllabus and exam fact on this site is cited to the exam board’s official documents. See exam boards and Sources.

Rate and trial
from RM75/hr.
The exact rate depends on the teacher and the level. We confirm it on WhatsApp before you book. The trial is a paid one-hour lesson with the teacher who would continue: they find the gaps and teach a real topic. After that, you arrange lessons one at a time.
Adding 1-to-1 vs relying on the group class only
| 1-to-1 alongside | Group class only | |
|---|---|---|
| Attention on your child’s gaps | ✓ | No |
| Feedback on your own answers | ✓ | Limited |
| Pace control | ✓ | No |
When the other option is better: If the learning centre is already meeting your child’s needs and results are strong, extra 1-to-1 may not be necessary. We will tell you after a trial.
Why class lessons are not always enough
Many learning-centre students follow the lesson well while it happens. They nod as the teacher works an example.
Then they sit down with a question of their own and the method disappears. This is common, and it is especially wide in Accounting. Watching someone balance a ledger is easy. Doing it yourself is hard: deciding which account to debit, remembering the accrual, and laying it out so the marks are earned.
A group class, however good, moves at the pace of the room, so individual slips can pass unnoticed. Our 1-to-1 lessons add that individual correction. They work alongside your centre, whose classes keep their value.
Fixing marks lost on your own work
The usual pattern is a student who understands the idea but loses marks on their own attempt. The cause is almost always method.
In class, the teacher's model answer looks tidy because the teacher knows where each figure belongs. The student's attempt loses marks to a mislabelled account, a figure on the wrong side, an adjustment in the wrong period, or a layout that hides the answer.
In a 1-to-1 lesson we watch you work and catch the slip as it happens. Say you post a purchase of goods for RM4,500 on credit to the wrong side.
We stop there, rebuild why the reasoning went wrong, and have you redo it while the correction is fresh. Repeated over a term, this is the difference between knowing a topic vaguely and doing it cleanly under pressure.
Catching up or moving ahead
Some students come to catch up. The centre has moved on to final accounts while they are still unsure of the trial balance.
We rebuild the missing foundation quietly, without holding up a class. Others come to move ahead, so they are already working on adjustments and control accounts before the group arrives.
In the first weeks we find out which you need and compare your understanding with where your centre is now. We build on how your centre's teacher has taught each topic so you keep one consistent method. If more than one approach is acceptable, we help you choose the one to use.
Reports and checking your own work
After each block of work you will know which topics are secure enough for the centre's tests and which still need attention. We mark your practice for method as well as the answer. We show you how to lay out a ledger so the balancing is clear and how to structure a statement so no adjustment is dropped.
Marks lost in centre tests become information we act on. Over time you learn to check your own work by asking whether the two sides agree, and where the slip is if they do not. That is the most useful independent habit an accounting student can have.
Using both
Many families use a learning centre and 1-to-1 lessons side by side. A group class and individual teaching do different jobs.
The centre gives structure, breadth and the routine of a cohort. We give individual correction and a personal pace.
Suppose you keep losing a handful of marks on final accounts questions even though you understand the theory. A term of focused 1-to-1 work is built to fix that kind of leak. We will tell you honestly how it is going, based on your marked work.
Fitting around the centre timetable
When you first contact us, we ask what the centre covers each week and when. That shows where the gaps are and which evenings or weekend slots are free, so our lesson does not clash with the centre's classes.
In a lesson we can pause on the exact point your child stumbled over that week, such as a bank reconciliation, control account or year-end adjustment. Then we rework it slowly.
Between lessons we keep the work light, because these students already have centre homework. Your teacher sends a small set of questions on that week's weak spot, plus worked solutions, and marks the returned work before the next session.
Tell us your centre's schedule and where your child is struggling. We will suggest a teacher whose free hours fit. To see how it works alongside your centre, book a trial class.

Frequently asked questions
Will this clash with our tuition centre?
No, we complement it. We focus on your child’s individual gaps rather than re-teaching the whole class.
Do you follow the centre’s materials?
We can work with them, but we teach from our own resources and original examples so the explanations are clear.
How many sessions are needed?
It depends on the gaps. After a trial we suggest a sensible frequency and you decide.
